ABOUT HARELOOM

Every cup poured, every meal served, and every conversation shared honors the past while creating new stories for the future.

Hareloom Café is a cozy breakfast and lunch spot nestled in the heart of downtown Stevensville, MI, housed in the town’s oldest building — a space rich with history, from its original tin walls to the colorful ceiling tiles that once framed a beloved local pharmacy counter. Founded in 2025, our name reflects our deep appreciation for tradition, storytelling, and the connections formed over a shared meal.

We specialize in elevated comfort food made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, featuring locally roasted coffee from Infusco Coffee in Sawyer, MI. Through thoughtfully created meals, a welcoming atmosphere, and a space rich in history, we aim to foster connection and create lasting memories for families, friends, and locals alike. Every cup poured, every meal served, and every conversation shared honors the past while creating new stories for the future.

Behind the Hare

Hi! My name is Joey Miceli, and I opened Hareloom Cafe in the heart of downtown Stevensville circa August 2025. I have had a long-standing passion for all things food and restaurants, dating back to age 14 when I officially joined the workforce washing dishes every day after school. As I worked my way up in the back of the house, I silently studied and became fascinated by the chaotic inner-workings of what it truly takes to put on the perfect guest experience.

I got my start at the Mark 3 in St. Joseph, but have also worked as a part of various other local restaurants such as Plank’s Tavern on the Water, Bistro on the Boulevard, and Houndstooth in Benton Harbor over the course of 10 years. I attribute not only my love for kitchens, but also the knowledge I have obtained over time to these upstanding establishments and the skilled chefs I have had the privilege of working under.

I am married to my wife Emily, and we just had our first child, Graham, in January of 2026. The both of us graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2016 and 2018. Having both grown up local to the St. Joseph/Stevensville area, it is very important to us that we do our part in preserving the natural charm of our beautiful hometowns to the best of our ability. The entirety of the ‘Hareloom’ brand serves as an homage to exactly that. It is our hope that when you visit the cafe, you may notice the careful attention to the small details integrated into the dining experience of our little historical spot.

And most importantly, we hope you visit us again soon!

Joey
